Theater On the Go !

Things do change their perceptions to us as time goes by – well definitely so sometimes !

The last time I had been to my Home – I happened to watch a Theater . When I say Theater , I mean the pure staged Live version of it and not a commercially-shot post-one. This was my razzmatazz with Theater after probably , say 15 years (when I was a kid & I used to hate).

And boy ! I really enjoyed it to the core this time !
You see actors playing scenes where there are no retakes , no re-shoot - it just goes by as it does. To be a good theater actor , you must definitely be very proficient as it’s just a First Time Right concept. Either you do good and get a clap or do bad and get verbal-slap !

The plot was nice based on Pre-marriage pregnancy and the actors did a really good job – the music was spontaneous. Entire show was covered on 2 different but attached stages – when one stage was occupied with running a scene , the other was being prepared for the next scene. And this whole exercise was so neatly and promptly performed that you can not but clap !

What’s more – there were song and dance sequence with pretty good lighting and backgrounds – no lesser than a typical Bollywood flick. And considering this was all done with a running scene and already-seated audience - enthralling !

I heard so much about the Theater artists’ caliber and really they are so prominent. But the only saddening part is , these potential guys (at least some) are really under-paid for their skills.

Hope the Theater culture grows to a larger audience , wider platform and more acclaimed appraisals.

Tax for All Walks !

If there is one thing that all the Working Junta would dread on the common plate , it is the Tax factor. Contrary to our everyday greed when it comes to Tax - The lesser , the better .

So till you are acquainted with some tax-saving policies , Keep paying the Taxes !

CWG - A Wealth Building Exercise

A national level pandemonium does not stand as a surprise to us – we have had plenty of them !
But the scale of height reached by the CommonWealth game issue is something sufficient enough to hurt the pride of every Indian.

The recent hullabaloo over the Construction ( read – Misconstruction !) of the CWG arrangements and the subsequent Breakage , the filthy paper-photos of the dilapidated ambience within CWG – would leave no stone unturned to bury the nose of India !

Thanks Politicians , Bureaucrats , Contractors and all those associated with CWG for this misfortune ! We are pretty sure you might have pocketed plenty of monetary fortune by selling the pride of India.

Doesn’t this raise the question – if India is not prepared to host something of International Standard ?

Personally I believe it’s just not worth watering 70,000 crores on CWG – No offence but what are we trying to prove ? Don’t we have more Internal problems , issues that needs more of that money instead of CWG.

Common Wealth game – have definitely made a section of people Commonly Wealthy for sure !

Ayodhya to India

And the most awaited verdict on Ayodhya is on the hot platter !
The whole nation is looking upto the decision that would be taken by the bench of veterans - something that surely holds the gigantic strength to shake the Nations' backbone.

A decision favoring Either would tread on the Sentiments of Another - Marking the defeat of the common people in Both ways !

A Temple or a Mosque – would never solve a problem - it never did until and unless we are ready at heart to accept the positive changes way above our Religious believes.

I am not here to polish my judgmental shoes but as a citizen of a democratic country , I definitely don’t see a Temple or a Mosque as the most viable and benevolent solution in the 21st century.

India has deeper needs , succumbing infrastructure , poor people and hundreds of other on-fire crucial problems which requires the so-called attention very badly. So the point is , instead of a Temple or a Mosque , why don’t we invest in something  bigger, better prospects , good of Humanity and the Country and build anything more relevant – An Old-age home , a Feeless-school , an Hospital , a Training Center for the Physically handicapped , an Orphanage – there are so many worthwhile options available !

Let’s keep the eyes glued onto something positive and intellectual - far above the sentimental ( and judgmental) delicacies .
I am very much optimistic and confident that the final verdict would be something in the progressive interest of the Nation !

Dabangg

Watched Dabaang this weekend.
And boy ! Bollywood ,for sure, has produced such solid potboilers on rare occasions.

Dabaang can not boast of a radically distinctive storyline but despite the way it is presented – the style , the dialogues , songs , desi dance moves – you can not help getting enthralled.

No nowaday-so-common Swiss or NYC locations, no unnecessary fancy outfits , no cost-you-like-hell swampy glitterati. Instead scoring all over – Desi Tadka – true Indian style , makes you forget the contemporary cinematic dreamworld ( rather Dematerialized Fancy world for the common junta ) .

All said and done – the movie belongs to Salman Khan – you can not think of anybody else as the bad-ass cop - brat , witty , stylish , full-of-attitude - Chulbul Robinhood Pande , except him !
Cutom-made , it so wonderfully fit him - Dabangg would definitely either make the critics praise him or if not so at least silence their voice.

Keep your critical hat off , leave the judgemental glasses behind - just sit back and watch - entertainment guaranteed !
My 250 bucks did not bite the dust after a long long time !

And I was happier !

Tasking the Multi

Multitasking has been , seen and done it all – with a lot written , argued , fought over it !

Nevertheless I would ,anyday, prefer not to agree to its credibility - Multitasking does not pay the dividend at all – even if I sound sarcastic – then I am despite all the sumptuous arguments that you might appreciate me with !

When you have one job at one hand and the only thing in your mind to get it done – the sense , the efforts and the heed strikes one dimensional chord. Unsurprisingly better results , better profits and surmounting productivity !

These vicious words probably come from the fact that – personally, it’s never been a smooth ride at all instances of Multitasking. Even at certain cases of Pyrrhic victories. Juggling the balls does look nice at times but it sure paves the way to bite the dust.

Have you ever tried writing a piece of article , putting the clothes in the washing machine , eating an apple-pie and answering a call – probably you might think of some better sane tasks to multitask . But the point is while trying to pack all of them and get it done more often than not we screw up. At least I do – but if you are amongst Those unlike me – Yes I do envy you.
I would rather finish my article at peace , put the clothes in the washing machine , answer the call and reward myself with an apple-pie – jostling and juggling are quite not my cup of tea!

And I pride myself on that !

Mann Lafanga Bada

Man lafanga bada

Apne mann ki kare
Hoo yun toh mera hi hai
Mujhse bhi na darre
Woh bheege bheege,
Khayalon mein dooba rahe
Main sambhal Ja kahun
Fisalta rahe
Ishq mehnga pade
Phir bhi sauda kare

Hoo jaane kyun,
Udaasi iss ko pyaari lagey
Chaahe kyun nayi si
Koi beemari lagey
Bechaini raaton ki,
Neendon mein aankhein jagey
Lamha har lamha kyun,
Bojh sa bhaari lagey
Hoo bhanwra sa ban ke machalta hai
Bas tere peeche peeche chalta hai
Junoon sa lahu mein ubalta hai
Luccha be baat hi uchalta hai

Woh bheege bheege,
Khayalon mein dooba rahe
Main sambhal
Ja kahun fisalta rahe
Ishq mehnga pade
Phir bhi sauda kare

Oo ambar ke paari,
Jaane kya takkta rahe
Baadal ke gaon mein,
Baaki batakta rahe
Teri hi khushboo mein,
Yeh toh mehekta rahe
Dheemi si aanch pe,
Ishq sa pakta rahe
Oo teri hi baaton se pighalta hai
Chai mein cheeni jaise ghulta hai
Deewana aisa kahan milta hai
Pyaar mein yaaro sab chalta hai
Ho bheege bheege,
Khayalon mein dooba rahe
Main sambhal
Ja kahun fisalta rahe
Ishq mehnga pade
Phir bhi sauda kare

P.S. - Just love this song - Awesome lyrics !

Yeh hain India Meri Jaan !

So you scaled the world over off from a foreign land and just reached India?

A warm Welcome first of all.

Rest, be assured of some really good experience here -breathtakingly different, find-no-where stuff, almost Out Of the Box!

Talk about being different - unimaginable things are made possible here , in the-road-less-travelled-way, every other day !

Almost Out of the Box . Yes they are !

How much of the below would you ever find anywhere in the world -

- A cart, a car and a bull racing against each other on the road.

- Water-filled potholes on the lane and sometimes even people fishing in that.

- Besotted blokes lying on some field-corner in sunny day-time.

- A traffic police watching hue and cry on the road from a nearby pan-shop.

- Mercedes and a Bicycle parked side by side .

- People running beside and behind to catch a Moving bus.

- Footpaths half-occupied by sellable items

- A fearless cow , rolling unscathed ( mostly) , on a railway track !

- A bunch of people who walk on the road before election and roam in bullet-proof car thereafter – we call them Politicians !

Nevertheless all the Exciting pandemonium , this land would appropriate that you have a ball of a time as we believe in – Atithi Devo Bhava ( Guest is God ) !

So enjoy madi !

Past , Present and Then Some More

The Human needs are so prolific most of the times – We keep striving and leave no stone unturned to feed our hunger , quite opulent – almost always !

Certain amount of changes have so fast crept in over the past few years that looking back some things seem quite strange and funny at the same time.

Reminiscent of college days - running around Cyber cafes was such a common scene. Consider urself as damn lucky if you could possibly manage to grab a sysetm\seat after waiting for half an hour !
Oh yes – you always take ur buddy along with you so that the Surfing payment can be divided equally! Penny-pinching ah ? Not really!
Having internet at home 24/7 , at the clicks away, would have looked like a lavish or rather Luxury I would say at that time!

Being Brand-conscious was so risky and non-manageable considering the fixed amount of money , you used to pocket by then.
And now ?

Brand nahin to kuch nahin !

Those Levis’ jeans , UCB Tees , Louis Philippe shirts , Peter England pants throb inside the wardrobe now. From the pin to tin , shoes to socks , food to diet , wine to dine – it’s all about brand , brand and some more brand.

The monthly expense of the bygone days are, now ,not sufficient to pay even ur mobile bills sometimes !

Day’s getting costlier with every minutes passing by.

We are not complaining though . Because Change happens only for the Good of the Bigger Better picture of Life.

Ubiquitous

The syllables I mumble
Aren’t those of some essence
If at all they need to be
I must procure my ground.

Burying the ego at the deepest hour
Some sort of playing around
Might loosen the bolts
Or do tighten them to the best

Rescuing must happen from the core
Or so it seems to be
Aren’t all of those stuck-up speeches
Testifying thy presence ?

Equate the sum of all
And you get the biggest zero
Divide , subtract and nullify - All it does fetch you
Is another Bigger Zero !

Not all letters have some meaning
Even if you jumble all the way
Some things stand so complicated
That it turns around to be the best !!!

Office Space

Recently watched an old movie – Office Space ( Justified to say “Old” for 1999 I guess !)

And boy ! Was pleasantly amazed. Had I watched it 10 years back , I would not have enjoyed the movie so much as I did now.

The IT folks can so easily relate to this movie – the daily office nuisances , bugging boss ( if u r unlucky !) , Monday blues , Functional Specs , Review comments , Coffee breaks , Short-term crushes ,Birthday celebrations , Weekend-working , Late hours, Peer gossips , One-to-one meetings , Deadlines, Traumatic Xerox machines , Performance reviews , Newer policies , Paycheck issues and so on and on !

The character that I found to be the most remarkable is that of the boss of INITECH – Bill Lumbergh ( Gary Cole) with his impeccable skill to find the slightest and sleekest loopholes and a very unique style of racking – “Yeeeaaah , if you can just go ahead and do it , that would be greaaaat !”. You can see this guy walking from pillar to post in the office with a cup full of never-ending coffee and harassing the employees . His proverbial "So what's happening ?" is the most dreaded line which often initiates a fresh line of work or some sort of trouble for the employees. Watch the movie and you will know what I am talking about. Lumbergh gets 10 on 10 as the guile & irritating boss to make the plot a perfect slapstick.

And so is Peter (Ron Livingston), the Lumbergh-tortured , victimized employee who turns , after a Hypnotherapy session, into the devil-may-care slack-skinned dude ( or employee rather) and gets a promotion nevertheless whereas his hard-working friends Michael Bolton ( David Herman) and Samir ( Ajay Naidu) gets short-listed for the pink slips !

Not to forget a miserably tormented Milton(Stephen Root) - Habituated to moving his desk every now and then , heads his workstation to the Basement Storage house finally upon Lumbergh's prolonged windy pinches ! The overly troubled soul works in the office and gets his paychecks even 5 years after he was laid off just because no one ever told him that he was sacked !

A thoroughly enjoyable comedy – custom-made for a weekend watch and getting ready for the ensuing Monday Blues !

The Big and Small of it

Small is the Big sometimes ! And speaking in terms of the volumes of contribution , so it is - Most of the times.

Small things , small matters and small people go unnoticed without the sound of claps and deserved acclamation more often than not !

The Cab driver who wakes up and gets to work at an unearthly hour so that you can reach work on time.

The Postman who walks under the blistering sun-light to make sure the courier gets delivered to you at the comfort of Air-conditioned home.

The Security guard who tries to be awake at night to safeguard the property ( and sometimes his job as well ! )

The Kissan (Farmer) , slogging throughout the year , at the paddy field to feed the nation.

The Workers plugging away at different Mills, Industries to generate the daily amenities.

The Newspaper guy who makes sure you receive the latest news at your doorstep even though it’s raining cats and dogs outside.

The Traffic-police ( barring the bribe-takers – believe me , we still have few Honest ones !) who stands amidst the polluted ambience all day long to keep the chaos out of the road.

The Municipality Sweeper , cleaning the drainage , wastage and dirt Contributed by the masses every day.

The Labourer breaking the stones , under the sun and the rain , at the roadside to finish off the fly-over on time.

Add the Thelawala , the Rickshawpooler , the Kooli to this Elite section - Just some of the Unsung Junta of the Nation.

Simple and sober , powerless yet powerful , unspoken yet a necessity - they are a crucial part of the Nations’ backbone - not by Profession but by the effort and dedication they put in each and every minute - quite Unconvinced and Unaware of the admiration – they so badly deserve !

This simple post is just a way of saying - THANKS to all of them !

Bharat Bandh

The Bandh Culture is back again to the much euphoria of the masses !

We , Indians , have a unique way of protesting – calling for a Bandh – a total shut-down of the entire daily-working machinery !

And people , like me , are ecstatic , not that we care much about the cause of the Bandh but that we don’t have to go the office/college that day.
On a sarcastic note , lets sit back , relax at home , watch movies and be a total couch-potato !

And only God knows if it is a good sign for a country like ours !

Red and Green

Step on the road , pick any transportation and start - on the way you happen to meet something really frustrating and equally inevitable always – the traffic signals. Cover just 5 of them and quite comfortably notice something , very common and not quite palatable , at each of the signals - It’s the habit of majority of the people not to stop the engine – be it a bike , a car or a bus , at the Red light.

Most of the traffic signals are equipped with Timers nowadays - vividly displaying how long will the Red lights be put on . This gives ample scope to arrange shutting down the machine. But only a few care. We talk about Green Earth and we don’t pay heed to the Red !

This is not about the ever-rising Petrol or Diesel price hike . Rather about the Natural resources dwindling at an alarming rate ! We can not imagine how big positive impact and difference would be made by shutting the machine for even 30 seconds. We save energy , money as well less pollute the environment..

The planet deserves at the least this little attention from our side for sure !

Soccer and Shocker

Surprise , surprise and some more surprises !

World Cup 2010 has seen some substantial surprises – first with some Big teams - France , England and 2006 Champion Italy , being pushed to an exit already .

Came waving the bigger shock with the two most steadfast 2010 front runner Stallions ,my personal favourite teams , Brazil and Argentina being out of the Quarter-finals. Really sad – more so due to a tremendously expected Brazil-Argentina clash in the finals !

Both the teams played undoubtedly fabulous football in the tournament so far .Though personally , I feel due to some bizarre reasons, Brazil was not as vivacious attacking ,against Holland ,as they normally are and Argentina defence looked seemingly penetrating against Germany.

Holland and especially Germany attack has been breathtakingly delightful to watch while they thrashed out the Titans from the Most Wonderful Game on the planet.

Probably this what we call the Luck factor which is needed equally to grab the moment and shine.

No doubt on the expertise of the veterans coaches – Dunga and Maradona , though.
On the same note – all the players Robinho , Kaka, Fabiano , Messi , Tevez , Higuaín , notwithstanding the loss , would be held high for the dribbling skills. You have been fab !

Good luck guys - may be next time !

The Good of Small Things

Honesty is the best policy - uttered numerous times in school . Implemented ? Never !

Although neither it is an air-headed speculation nor just a fancy-idea even in this jet-age !

I have got a pretty explanation for the same.

Here’s how –

Had given some stuff to a nearby Tailor-shop , in the morning, for getting alternation done. Evening while collecting back , I was in a hurry ( had to catch up the 7.30 P.M. Brazil-Dutch world cup match  ) and , incidentally, happened to pay 100 bucks extra to the guy ( the owner of the shop). And I left !

What’s next ?

Well the guy , apparently called me , around 20 minutes later , in my cell and told that I had paid him extra !

I was really surprised at the unsurprisingly rare honesty when he could have easily ( and happily) pocketed the extra bucks.

The planet is not devoid of genuine & honest people , I must say – Thank God !

P.S. – As a coincidence , morning itself , I had read in the Bangalore Mirror newspaper – a reporter had arranged 4 purses to be dropped at 4 different locations in Bangalore , just to check how many are returned end of the day . And ironically only one purse was returned - that too by an NRI lady from Los Angeles !

Sense-Medicine

Been there , Seen that ? Nice – No it’s not ; Miserable – Absolutely!

Why ?

Why Not ?
We head for the bus , we don’t stand in the queue lest we lose a nice seat ( Come on after all it’s just a bloody bus-seat , not cash in the Bank account - U r not going to take the seat to ur home anyway ! ) ,

We start getting into the Lift before the people walks out of it ( funny again right ?) ,

While crossing the door , we don’t hold it open for the person coming at the back , instead let it go ( or shall I say flung it open onto him/her ? )

And respond to a Smile ? Are u kidding - why the heck would I smile ?

I have been a very Uncanny and Unpleasantly amused observant of everything aforesaid.

Ironically , more often than not , the so-called Educated mass is the one proudly (?) depicting such slapsticks.

Today ,I guess, more than anything else what we very badly need is – Common sense – something so vastly uncommon of late.

Just because we do something in way , doesn’t mean we should !

Mein Kampf

Things are on a pejorative note – for Long long long and long !

Somehow convinced myself finally , geared up to the copy of – Mein Kampf – the autobiography of Hitler - heralded as one of the most readable in the autobiograpy genre.

( Thanks to my younger brother who left the copy when he visited me last time ) .

The first look is as of hellhole though – considering it’s gonna be around 600 pages of read.

Nevermind anyways !

Clash in the Class

This post is dedicated to the Bygone-days-Strifes we used to have in Engg college days between the 1st Benchers and the 2nd benchers.

So at the outset , let me begin with the intro of the dudes in the groups –

1st Bench – Amritam , Sayantan , Ajith , me and Swarupam ( The order covers the way we used to sit from R to L)

2nd Bench – Kaushik , Vikas , Anish , Shyam and Kishore ( Well ,barring the first guy , they never used to follow a sitting order  )

And we took pride in calling ourselves the Rivals ( Although as a matter of fact , we were a bunch of good friends).

Yeah let me sum up what we all used to possess –

Kaushik – The proverbial do-gooder guy , always there to help a friend and yes to kill with his p.js..

Vikas – Another p.j. and pathetic shayari master. The “Universal Bhaiya” who used to treat every girl as his sister. This Marwadi was known for his “Kanjoosi” and for being one of the most helpful and decent guy.

Anish – Unimaginably simple and nice guy who used to fall for every other girl in the class ☺.

Shyam – He was a kid – we will talk about him only when he turns an adult

Kishore – The only way to befriend this guy – Tell him you don’t like Michael Schumacher

Amritam – The funny guy with a real good sense of humour and the dirtiest room in the hostel

Sayantan – Mr. “Tension-Bhadra” – who had a really good penchant for getting tensed at the slightest possible excuse. The Topper of our batch.

Ajith – If u r in the mood of getting someone angry with minimum effort , pick this guy. Neverthless a tailor-made partner in crime.

Swarupam – The weirdest fellow of the entire gang , no one could match his uncertain moves – the most unpredictable guy.

However words apart , we had the bestest of fun in those days – be it the Leg-pullings , the innumerable Mass-bunkings ( although sometimes the Mass included only these 2 groups ) , Naming teachers , Birthday celebrations , Playing DART in SB and NS class ( Thnks Vikas for reminding me of this activity ), Copying in Internals - the pranks stood with no limits.

Well 2nd benchers if u are thinking I have mellowed down while writing this , pause a moment – You will always be our Opponents. So stay in that way – to avoid complicating things and to Value the Tradition we have been following so far. Let’s not call ourselves “Friends” - we Hate you  All

And now to the other readers if , at all, the words sound a bit ambiguous ( Am pretty sure , they do), let me put it in a simpler way – We are , actually, a little Complicated and with Us it’s always Complicated !

Cheers guys !

Bread and Butter ki kahani

21st June – Just finished 4 years in the Corporate World – And Boy ! It’s been one of the most exciting Roller-Coaster ride of my life.

Still remember the day , when I embarked upon the gate of Perot Systems in Bangalore. Just another fresh face , straight from the college campus to the big-bad Corporate world - the heart was fraught with mixed feelings – Nervous of an uncertain work-life ahead and excited about the monthly paycheck henceforth.

Sad that the College fun would be missing and expected some really serious , gloomy faced , Specy people to surround me for an entire 8 hours from then on.

But on the contrary I would say – it turned out to be the second most fun frolic place and if you consider that , every month-end u get paid , then probably it’s even better than college itself !
The most happening time ? Bench period. Oh yes ! How can I forget the Bench days – The daily routine was like – come to office , enjoy food , drink coffee , play games , watch movies , do surfing , chat , orkut , sleep if u could manage , and finally go home. End of the month , u get paid despite all this fun. I mean can anything get better than this ? That time was heaven.
But then once I moved to project things did change – started getting busy and saddled with work.

Days went by , projects one after another started bringing forth changes in the thinking – becoming more professional and matured everyday.

In between a change in Company , brought me to another new organisation – but this time with some corporate knowledge and thinking under the belt. Then again same work – life went on.

And 4 years passed just like that.

Football Fever

The Galactic show is back - World Cup Football 2010 !

Amongst the monotonous telecast of every-other-day-played-cricket , a Welcome relief comes in the form of World Cup Football 2010.

The world looks so united and euphoric this season. We rejoice over the game – the Heads , the Passes , the strategic Goals , the excitement , the ravishing celebration – truly Football is the most celebrated game in the world.

The Giants – Brazil , Spain , Portugal , Argentina , Germany , Italy , England all geared up for the display - the skills cumulated over the four years. However , this game too has a very high share of uncertainty when it comes to winning the match. Apart from the widely accepted winning and strong teams , there are many Underdogs who can turn really formidable and unstoppable at times. The past World Cups has innumerable instances of so.
The one point that turns World Cup even more formidable – is the reality that OFF World Cup ,no matter however celebrated big team you are , whatever no of matches you might have won – If you havn’t lifted that Cup ever , then  It’s all in Vain !
And at such moot point , all the teams seems to share only three Mantras for the World Cup –

If you had won , Retain the glory,
If you had ever won , Revive the glory ,
And if you have never won , Attain the glory !

Words and fun apart , we Indians would still have our share of agony – obvious from our so prominent absence in the World Cup. Not that we are devoid of talent , it’s the culminated disinterest to pile up the talent which is to blame. The money , time and fame spent on Cricket has been so sky-high , that little room is left for the survival of the other games. Its high time that we are awake of the long lull and give Football and the nascent talent , the attention it so badly deserves. And yes – to have our very own Indian team of high repute.

Till then , let’s enjoy the one month show !

Flying Bullets

Do Bullets fly straight ?

An absolute NO in the world of  Mechanics.

All horizontally thrown objects follow a projectile or semi-projectile motion – the maximum distance ( Range in Physics term ) covered when thrown at 45 degree angle to the ground.

Well anyways I am not here to dig up Mechanical Physics.

Just happened to remember something I heard – “If no one ever told you that Bullets fly straight , how would you do?”

It has a pinch of human psychological texture (About the way Human minds are Conditioned ) standing non-uniformly against a celebrated Physics theory.

Quite thought-provoking though !!!

Guilt-Free

Beparwah ho gaye hain, behaya ho gaye hain
Befikrr ho gaye hain Hum
Beparwah ho gaye hain, behaya ho gaye hain
Befikrr ho gaye hain Hum

Jalke, dhua - dhua jal jal ke
Barse, maange Tu jo marr marr ke
Tu yeh khwabon mein bhi chahega, duawon mein bhi maangega,
tu phir bhi na payega
Chori, uspe cheena japti hai
Wo hi, kismat aise batt ti hai
Dekho, khel mein jo sota hai
Seekho, Sale wo hi hota hai
Tu jo dekhta hi jayega, jo lootna na aayega, Tu haar ta hi jayega
De dekho, dao pe zamana hai
Bhakko, jeet ke hi jaana hai.....

Soul-Curry

I knew not to say those words

I knew not what that look meant

I knew not what to look for

I knew not if they were surreal

I knew not if the gaze was for real

I knew not if the plan would work

I knew not if I was right or wrong

I knew not why it all din’t work out

So I fell and stumbled again & again

But then , they were all in the Past !

Blog-mania

Here’s my new penchant for killing time – Blog browsing !

Thanks to Google for Blogger and especially for making this process Random. By Random I mean when u click Next on any Blog–page , u never know who’s blog page u are going to be treading onto. More unique by the fact that there is certain amount of Uncertainty and yet u can be sure of a profoundly amazing experience. You can just go on and on without any stops ( excluding those blogs open only to invited readers ). For the rest, it’s an open and ticket-free journey – the feeling of a Free and United World is so much prominent here.

People are so diverse in opinions , ideas and way of thinking – from the jubilant writing of a 18-year-old’s blogs to the highly matured scribbling by a 45-year-old guy ( there are obviously exceptions !) , English has it’s flavour splitted all around .

So Read & Write - And do keep up the Blog business alive.

It's Not Cricket

It’s Not Cricket” – was the line from a prose by Jim Corbett that I had read long back . I am not going to pen that article now – but just wanted to reiterate the context – he meant the respect , the adulation with which the game ( Cricket) is looked upto . And others need a Class of their own to match the level of cricket – such is the edifice of the game - so not all are cricket.

Then given the recent pandemonium we have had over IPL , the game for sure had lost its respect in my eyes. I know saying so I would draw lots of despised looks for sure .

But for once lets get our facts and figures right – this game had been one of the major stumbling blocks for the other sports in India. I am not against cricket – I do love watching as well as playing this game. But the money and the time – injected into the game turns out to be a farce - legitimately proven by our dismal performance. We win one match and then  lose three at a stretch ! Our fluctuating performance proved again and again by the fact that - We win against any team as well as Lose against any team !!!
Not all teams are constant performer – but we aren’t even closer to being that !! And cricketers , nowadays, are more of a money-minting machine than a sportsperson. The innumerable tv Ads are the vivid corroboration to the same - where Practice is swapped with Acting. More so the IPL hullabaloo glorifies the limelight associated with the game more than the game itself !

Cricket fanaticism has always enveloped a pall of negligence onto the other sports in our country. India is so neck-deep playing cricket that all the other sports like – football , hockey , boxing are still at their nascent stage. Inspite of the pejorative attitude towards these games and the players alike , occassionaly there's  been display of the spark of talent , shine and potential powerhouse that’s in store – untouched. Have we ever cared about our big absence in Football World Cup ? Even if we put half of the money spent on cricket onto the survival of these sports , the reaping would be galore.

Let all sports enjoy the same attention and financial injection. It’s not enough playing just cricket – India does have a vast pool of affluent talent and hence need to prove the mettle on every sport !!!

Impossible is Nothing

It was a regular after-office hour at home. While surfing net , found the the site - http://www.attitudeisaltitude.com/ .

And I was stuck-dumb !

The site is about the guy – Nick Vujicic. So what’s special about him ?
Well to answer that – this guy does not have his hands and feet and guess what he says – No hands , No Feet , No Worries !!!

It was a really Touching and tremendously Inspiring read at the same time.
Have we ever imagined being born without arms and feet ? This guy is born so and Kudos to him for the way he has led his life – as a torch-bearer to thousands despite his physical disability.

Nick does everything what a normal person does – he swims , plays golf & football , works on his computer. He leads a normal life without giving a damn to what he doesn’t have. And the most brilliant part is he is striving to bring forth the same MAGIC to enhance the lives of others - employees, employers, students , educators and the common man alike.

Hats Off to Him !

Now lets face it . The modern day people –
We frown so much that we forget to smile,
We hate so much that we forget to love,
We dislike so much that we forget to live ,
We complain so much about things we don’t have that it shrouds the gifts that we possess.

All of us are good and unique in our own way. I can’t think of a better example than Nick. Thanks Nick for paving the way – each and every endeavour of your’s is a stunning inspiration for us.

And for the rest of the common junta – Please go through the above site and stop complaining about life !

And So it Goes

It’s been a long journey , a real long one. Smitten by the unneeded and non-plausible aspects all the way so far. But that’s it. I am tired of playing Sophomore!

It always was more of others than me. Mislaying one’s own self-image under one’s own nose is the dirtiest way of surviving. More so if you are aware of it but not doing something enough about it.

It’s not worth to let yourself go astray for others – not in this cut-throat jet age. Do so and you are the best target of circumstances.

The last 8 years in this city has brought forth tremendous changes – the care-for-everybody teenager has fought numerous mental battles within and outside himself just to realize that if you are not happy with yourself & don’t love yourself first , you are not going anywhere. And if this sounds selfish , then that’s how it is !

The world can take care of itself and we need to take care of ourselves. The last 3 years ,especially, had instilled a zest to live for myself . I seem to have woken up a long lull. For the first time in my life , I feel free - I have learnt to do things which I like and enjoy doing without giving a damn!!! And for the rest of the Mass , Devil may care !!

All of a sudden I remember a line by Sloan ( Morgan Freeman) from the movie Wanted – “It's a choice, Wesley, that each of us must face: to remain ordinary, pathetic, beat-down, coasting through a miserable existence, like sheep herded by fate - or you can take control of your own destiny and join us, releasing the caged wolf you have inside.”

So dude Go for the kill or you won’t go any far !

All About Being lazy

It surely has something to do with the stringently hectic professional life recently.
I have been stupendously lazy now-a-days. Call it my uncanny penchant for comfort or an overly empowered boredom blooming all over my mind - both resulting in a lazy me.
All the to-do tasks including the urgent ones seems nearly pejorative to be accomplished. Despite my untiring efforts ( Lol !!) , things hardly seems to improve.

Why do it Today , when U can do it Tomorrow – is the latest anthem I have roped in recently.Phew!

Even while writing this , I am unsurprisingly Gone Blank. And I would definitely call it Bankruptcy of words.

Life - Then and Now

I Miss the days when at 8 a.m. , I used to get ready for school and not for office.

I Miss those days when at 9 a.m. , I used to be in the school bus and not in the office cab.

I Miss those days when at 10.30 a.m , I used to chat and fight over a pencil and not do a few key-strokes on the Keyboard.

I Miss those days when at 12.30 p.m. , I used to open my Lunch Box and not bite onto some tedious Burger.

I Miss those days when at 2.30 p.m. , I used to be wide awake that school was getting over at 3 p.m.

I Miss those days when at 4.30 p.m. , I used to play with my pals and not sip cappuccino and attend some meeting.

I Miss those days when at 5.30 p.m. , Me & my frens would use to pull some naughty tricks over the neighborhood.

I Miss those days when at 6.30 p.m., I used to strive harder to finish the Homework to catch the 7 p.m. Cartoon show.

I Miss those days when at 9.30 p.m. my studies would be over and I was allowed to watch a bit of tv.

I Miss those days when at 11.00 o’clock , I used to go to bed thinking of an exciting Tomorrow unlike now when another Monotonous , packed day keeps waiting.

Those were the days - the fantastic Bygone days.

I Miss My Golden Childhood – I really do !!!

Rise and Shine

Beneath those undying spirit;
Lied to thyself;
Confessed to myself.

The wings fluttering;
The words moaning;
The eyes rippling;
The heart beating;
Everyday;
More and more;
Everyday;

Broken and blurred;
Smeared and spurred;

No;

Shaken - I am not;
Intimidated - I am not;
Refrained - I m not;

The Spirit will never die;
For it’s a battle ,
We fight it out Till we die !!!

Don't Quit - The Best Poem Ever

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

P.S. - It is really sad that we don't know who is the actual author of this tremendously inspiring beautiful poem !

Math-e-Magic

Mathematics or rather a simplified - MATHS !!!

If there is one subject that can keep me glued for hours and yet without an iota of complain – it’s Maths. Be it - Algebra, Co-Ordinate Geometry, Trigonometry or Calculus – I just loveeee Maths. So today – while lingering on a lazy (jobless!!) weekend , just pondered over – why not jot down a few lines about it.

I am in love with the subject ever since my 8th Grade – not that I din’t like the subject before but I realized my LOVE for Maths only in that standard. So much so that I eventually changed my ambition to become a Doctor and rather got tripped to pursue Engineering . All this is - just because Medicine doesn’t require Maths !!!

Maths had always endowed a comfort zone throughout my life. A reason which might have had helped to secure ranks in Regional Maths Olympiad. More so , it was immensely helpful during Engg days , where people slip into the habit of preparing Theory at the last days, after Practicals are over !. And a subject like Maths does really contribute to lessen the pain , amongst the gigantic and tedious – theory question-answers combinations - shoot all over !

This is the only subject which makes you think in a logical frame , get prominent solutions and more importantly helps to think on your feet. The beauty of the subject lies in its inherent interesting pedagogy – that’s Maths for You !!

A Big Thanks to the Maths Behemoths – Newton , Euclid ,Pythagoras , Euler , Gauss and the rest of the Elite Class who brought forth flavors to the subject by adding their own bits and to India as well for discovering the “0” !

Just as Simple ..

Why does it happen that the most Simplified Solution can not cater for credibility in people. Just because it is simple , it gets the obnoxious look on entitling it as the Best option to a critical problem . Then yes , there can’t be something more insane ! Phew !!!

People look for a Complex solution for a Complex problem or at least a solution which apparently seems complex. We forget that giving a Simple solution is the most difficult task. A Simplified solution conceals the complexity or the monotony or the mammoth effort which had gone behind the back while creating it. And there lies the unique beauty of it.

More than half of the world is still oblivious to this fact or probably they pretend to be. It’s high time we come out of the psychological cocoon and view the broad spectrum at this juncture point when we desperately need to - Think Simple , Think Rational & Be innovative – but all in a Simple , dignified way.

Comeon’ folks take a break – U need to change the way u think !

P.S. – This realization comes out of Author’s Personal experience in his Professional life.

They are Human too..

We have this Unique notion in our society which differentiates people in two streams - Artisic & Non-Artistic. Especially people who happen to be into the technical field ( read Engineers here !) are tagged to be frivolous and devoid in the matter of artistic or literature genre.

If You think – They are an altogether different species. And that they are not Human , or they don’t have a Pumping Heart or they don’t possess Blood in their veins , then Yes my friend -YOU are absolutely Right.

No qualms about it !!!!!!!

It's Something !!!

It is 3 A.M. in the morning
And my sleep ditched my eyes,
I feel like the kite
Waving uneven as it flies.

It is 3 A.M in the morning
But I am wide awake on a drool,
Pondering if the uneven
Still gets my even around to fool.

It is 3 A.M. in the morning
And clueless – I am,
Why is it so complex
When life’s just a mirage in hall of fame

It is 3 A.M. in the morning
But the answers now I need,
While the world is fast asleep
My hunt starts again indeed…..

I Found My Self ...

I left my soul
Earned my meal,
I gave my time
But I lost my zeal.

And it says
I am not what I used to be,
Where I am headed to
I am not gonna be spared free.

I liked the Words
Then I looked at them,
I read their silence
And it all seemed just a maze of frame.

Time changed me
But I got ME back,
I lost my Conscience
But now it’s on Track.

My sojourn got my presence
And it’s not in vain,
I started loving myself
All over again…

Silence of the Silent....

Bus Day

It was 7th of April and I was as usual on my way to catch my morning 8o'clock bus to the office. But alongside I had noticed there are more people rushing for buses than on a normal day. And suddenly it did strike - yeah today is Bus Day !!. I smiled - at least for one day we have behaved pretty sensibly & responsibly.

Bus Day - One of the best initiatives taken by people , celebrated on a day of the first week of every month.

It promotes usage of Public Transport instead of our own vehicles- which is quite an encouraging step towards pollution & traffic reduction. As we all are aptly aware of , these two are one of the major problems in the already over-crowded cities like Bangalore. And initiating a concept of

transport that can be used by large chunk of people is going to be tremendously fruitful.

Besides the usage of petrol or diesel gets reduced as a result of such concepts. There are other modes like Car Pooling which is also quite a fresh and nice concept.

Such ideas are something that we badly need today and more importantly it is the implementation of the same which is more crucial towards greater results.

The response of the people has been quite positive on these ideas as everyone in today's age are very much conscious of the dearth or reduction of natural resources.

And we have pretty much to gain from the same - We save money , save energy and importantly promote greener earth !!

So let's Honk less and make Bus Day - an Everyday affair not just a Monthly one !!!

The Bachelor’s Weekend

Well Well Well ! I would categorize the Bachelor Species largely into two categories – Bachelors with girlfriends and Bachelors Without girlfriends. Now both have their own Weekend Lifestyle. We would just peep into in a Bird's eye view prospective -

Category one – Bachelors with Girlfriend –

Early morning !
The girl calls up the guy at 9 o’clock in the morning. The boy , like Most of the boys in the world , are fast asleep. After all it’s just 9 o’clock in the morning. For God’s sake , is it the time to wake up ? Hell – No !!
Arre yaar subah subah phone !!!). The guy picks up the phone after 2 longgggg rings Girlfriend wants to go shopping ; the boy doesn’t ! What the heck- after much NEGOTIATION , he had to agree – “Ok Baby , Mein tumhe shaam ko 5 baje pick up karta hoon – tum tyaar rehna

Afternoon – Gets a shave , nice bath and thinking all the while - " Aaj phirse ek do hazar ka phatka lagnewala hain !!"

Evening – The guy takes his bike , picks up his girlfriend , zooms to Shopper’s Stop. Hours of shopping . And finally both goes for dinner. Then he drops her at her place and he moves to his.
Watches a bit of tv and thinks – “kya boring programmes aa rahen hain ?” In the meantime , she calls him again – “So gaye kya ?tum mujhe bilkuul bhi yaad nahin karte ho ?” . The boy – “Arre baba , pura shaam to tumhare saath hi tha !”

The talk goes on for 2 hours. And finally the girl says Good Night. The Boy replies – “Ok baby Good Night , sweet dream !!”

And with this Our Bachelor too goes to sleep!!

Category two – Bachelors without Girlfriend

Morning –
Wakes up at 11.30 in the morning - not a much preferrable breakfast time – so he goes for a Brunch – Breakfast + Lunch – an ideal and very common package for most bachelors.

Afternoon –
Watches tv and sleeps.

Evening –
Goes out with the guy friends to the nearest mall – a bit of shopping and mostly Bird-watching.
Arre yaar usko dekh , kya mast hain yaar ? kaash meri bhi aisi hi koi girlfriend hoti ???”
Hours of checking out the opposite (fairer) sex and finally it’s time to go back. All head back for dinner and finally return to their places.

Switches on the tv , mumbles on the chicks – they saw in the mall , and finally goes to sleep.

And this brings an end to the Weekend for this category of people !!!

P.S. – The categories and the respective life-styles are very highly generic – there would definitely be variations to that !! This post does not target to harm the sentiments of any of the male or female homosapiens.

All said and done – The Author wants to keep himself aloof from answering - which category he falls into !!!

First Day - First Post !!

Yes I have decided to Resume writing again. And ironically Am too Blank to inscribe something meaningful now . But still won't hesitate jotting down some craps - my way !!!!

It's been years since I got to ( or shall I say managed to ?? ) write something - I mean a habit or liking that I had ( of writing articles) aeons ago , got stipped away ever since I had been moulding myself to be a so-called TECH guy !!! PHEW !!

In today's Jet Age , we don't speak words - we speak BITS & BYTES. How many of us really do use a pen instead of the keyboard daily.I had been munching and speaking NOT words but BITS & BYTES quite for a crucial span of my life . I don't know - but I think while doing so , the literatute culture does start slipping away. I don't have anything against one of the mighty inventions of all time - COMPUTER , but sadly we are compromising our Writing skills with Typing ones !! At least I have . And that sucks. Seriously !!!
And believe me - I am not ecstatic !!

So I have decided to write something , Whenever & Whatever some Crap creeps into my mind. It does not matter !!
